GC Boxing Results
12/10/2009
Riding the wave of his November MMA win, Angelo Depacquale tried his hand at boxing on the Michael's 8th Avenue card last Thursday.
From the second the bell rang to start the first round, Angelo took control of the ring with aggression and power. Throughout the first round, Angelo's opponent turned and, quite literally, ran.
Seconds after the bell rang to commence the second round, Angelo landed a heavy combo that forced the referee to call the fight.
Congrats to Angelo on his first boxing W!
Adi Alic also made his boxing debut. A wrestler and muay thai specialist by trade, Adi proved to the hundreds in attendence that GC boxing is "the new guy in town."
Facing an opponent out of Charm City boxing who already seen action on 3 different occasions (0-1) Adi took all 3 rounds in a unanimous decision despite losing a point in the second for putting his opponent in a thai clinch. Guess old habit die hard.
Angelo and Adi showed how the combat athlete has evolved over the years. Between the two, they have competed in no-gi, bjj, mma, wrestling, muay thai and now boxing. Great work guys.....your future is looking bright.
